The Department of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Health Children s and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth seeks its next Section Chief of Pediatric Cardiology. This individual will oversee and develop the clinical and academic missions of the Section, including its educational and research activities.
Dartmouth Health Children s is the pediatric service of Dartmouth Health, an integrated academic healthcare delivery system for northern New England anchored by Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) in Lebanon, New Hampshire. DHMC is recognized by US News & World Report as the Best Hospital in NH and is home to over 50 graduate medical education programs, NHs only Level 1 Trauma Center and air ambulance service, the Dartmouth Cancer Center (a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center), and CHaD Children s Hospital at DHMC NH s only children s hospital and the flagship for Dartmouth Health Children s.
Dartmouth Health Children s provides an extended system of care with primary, specialty, and advanced tertiary pediatric services, including an inpatient pediatric unit with PICU and a level III NICU at CHaD as well as a comprehensive ambulatory specialty center at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, the largest city in the state.
The Section of Pediatric Cardiology is a founding member of the Northern New England Regional Program in Pediatric Cardiology with Boston Children s Hospital and the University of Vermont Children s Hospital. Faculty provide comprehensive care for infants, children and adolescents with cardiovascular conditions across the state of New Hampshire and eastern Vermont based both at DHMC and Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester. The Section is also expanding an adult congenital heart program in conjunction with the Dartmouth Health Heart & Vascular Center.
Academic opportunities across Dartmouth's campuses include world-class traditional biomedical research, global health initiatives, and renowned leadership in quality improvement, outcome, and healthcare delivery sciences at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated significant leadership, organizational and mentoring skills and a record of significant scholarly achievement. This individual must be board certified in Pediatric Cardiology and qualify for academic appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience and academic portfolio.
