Family Medicine Residency Program Director

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Join a well-established Family Medicine residency program aimed at creating the next generation of Family Medicine physicians to support the most rural of communities. The University of Minnesota Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program provides outpatient, inpatient, obstetric and long-term care to patients in the Duluth, MN, community. Lead the program’s residents and faculty through modeling professionalism and excellence in patient care.

POSITION SPECIFICS

• Develop and execute the strategic and operational plan for residency program
• Oversee development and execution of quality curriculum, didactic and clinical education
• Oversee supervision, evaluation and promotion of residents
• Lead resident recruitment and selection through the National Residency Matching Program 
• Fulfill all Program Director duties as outlined in the ACGME program requirements
• Maintain the program’s ACGME accreditation while upholding the program’s mission and values
• Act as a liaison with the hospitals, medical community, community agencies, educational institutions and teaching sites
• Conduct faculty recruitment, retention, development and evaluation. Supervise and mentor core faculty to ensure fulfillment of program mission and values
• Maintain and demonstrate clinical expertise through precepting and faculty clinical practice

• ABFM certified and licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota
• At least three years of clinical experience in Family Medicine
• At least three years of experience as a core faculty member at a residency program
• Demonstrated experience in leadership with experience in change management

• Duluth, MN – a harbor city which is located at the westernmost tip of beautiful Lake Superior
• 150 miles north of the north of Minneapolis/St. Paul
• Duluth metro population: 125,000
