NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, located on 135th Street in Manhattan, is a designated Level 1 Trauma Center and is recognized for providing centers of excellence in the areas of Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging and Sexual Assault Forensics. Our teams provide services for nearly 213,000 outpatient visits, more than 83,000 emergency room visits and over 13,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Columbia University Medical Center.
Harlem Hospital Center has been certified as a Baby-Friendly hospital by the World Health organization. The OB/GYN service has a 24-hour pain management service with five birthing suites and a 17-bed inpatient unit. We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In FY14, the OB/GYN service had over 1000 live births.
Responsibilities:General ObGyn inpatient and outpatient evaluation and management.Ambulatory clinic coverage.Inpatient Gyn/ED consultation.Labor & Delivery coverage. Supervise the care given to patients by the mid-level providers. Adequate surgical skills required to cover inpatient services.Provide night, weekend and holiday coverage as assigned. Call coverage is four (4) per month.Applicants should be knowledgeable of best practices in ObGyn and have mature communication and interpersonal skills.Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.
Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited medical school.Completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in a RRC or AGME accredited residency program.Has an unrestricted license to practice medicine in New York State.Board Certified or Eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to hire, plus proof of subsequent booster vaccines within one month of eligibility
