Director, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention, Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, Non-Invasive Cardiologist
The Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute (CMHVI) seeks an interested non-invasive cardiologist as a Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention program. The program is one of many new developing programs in a dedicated service line, with advanced imaging, structural and interventional cardiology, heart failure, electrophysiology, inpatient and outpatient cardiology, as well as cardio-thoracic surgery and a robust vascular surgery program. The candidate may be an experienced cardiologist or a graduating fellow with leadership interests.
The Medical Director will oversee the cardiac rehabilitation program, as well as the lipid program, smoking cessation clinic, and the Medical Management program. The Medical Management program has dedicated Nurse Practitioners and nursing staff for patient education, compliance and safety. The Medical Director will be active clinically and focus on primary and secondary prevention. There will be dedicated administrative time for quality and process improvement.
The CMHVI is part of a larger Central Maine Healthcare which includes three hospitals located in Lewiston, Rumford and Bridgeton. The CMHVI has an affiliation with Massachusetts General Hospital and is currently developing collaborative programs in surgery, shock and heart failure. There are opportunities for an interested candidate to expand on this MGH affiliation both clinically and academically.
