Steward Health Care, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston, MA

The Division of Gastroenterology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Boston, MA, is seeking a full-time gastroenterologist with a special interest in serving as a gastroenterology hospitalist on a busy inpatient consult service. The candidate would join an established hospital-based gastroenterology group and with a focus on inpatient gastroenterology consultations and inpatient endoscopic procedures. The candidate is expected to work closely with a team of gastroenterology fellows, residents, and medical students to perform daily work rounds and inpatient consultations and endoscopic procedures. ERCP and EUS proficiency is not required.

St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center features a state-of-the-art Endoscopy Unit with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures that include ERCP, EUS, endoluminal stenting, endotherapy Barrett’s esophagus, third space endoscopy, and other advanced endoscopic procedures, an integrated medical and surgical intensive care unit, exceptional subspecialty services, and a busy bariatric and colorectal surgery program.

Candidates are expected to teach medical students, medical residents, and gastroenterology fellows. Candidates should be BC/BE in Gastroenterology, and must obtain a Massachusetts medical license, and meet hospital credentialing requirements. St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center serves as the tertiary care hospital for Steward Health Care in Massachusetts and is a teaching hospital of Boston University School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine. This position features a faculty academic appointment at the medical school that is commensurate with background and experience.
