The Department of Orthopedics at Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc. (HMFP) is seeking a Hand and Limb Reconstruction Surgeon to join the department in the development of its orthoplastics program.
A residency in plastic surgery, combined with either a hand surgery or an advanced plastic surgery specialty fellowship, with orthopedic or plastic surgery board certification and at least 3 years of extensive experience in advanced limb preservation surgery, including such techniques as free flap reconstructions, heterotopic re-plantations, permanent resolution of phantom limb pain through microsurgical techniques and surgical management of advanced pediatric and adolescent microvascular conditions of the limb. Additional training and experience in program development and leadership, especially experience in building interdisciplinary patient care protocols in the fields of plastic surgery and hand surgery to create a U.S. regional referral center for orthoplastics and microsurgery also a must.
