Promote engagement in the NPA Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) Registry to provide clinicians and patients with data to make informed treatment decisions
Project or Volunteer Experience Requirements
- AANS Member (FAANS, Provisional or Candidate)
- No more than 15 years out of training
- Ability to use social media and peer-to-peer networks to actively promote and encourage involvement in the NPA Stereotactic Radiosurgery Registry throughout the year
- Interested in working across specialties beyond neurosurgery to radiation oncology
- Interest in measuring quality of care and treatment processes affecting patient outcomes
- Interest in clinical research and publications
- Capable Editor/Writer
- Familiarity with regulatory issues (EU MDR and FDA requirements, CMS priorities, MVPs), a plus
Project Description
The NPA Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) Registry Steering Committee is involved in marketing, measurement and reporting, and identifying key registry data with the goal to provide national benchmarks for SRS treatments and provide data required for clinicians and patients to make informed treatment decisions. AANS members, with fewer than 15 years out from training, looking to become involved in SRS registry and quality improvement efforts are encouraged to apply to potentially join the committee.
Project Tasks
- Attend committee meetings and contribute to assigned projects for a 12-month committee term.
- Support Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) Registry marketing efforts via peer-to-peer promotion; using social media and other appropriate distribution channels to expand markets
- Write clinically relevant content for articles and newsletters
- Inform clinically impactful registry measures, based on knowledge of healthcare institution and payer outcome priorities
Project Commitment and Timeline
- Time Commitment: 12 month committee term (avg. of 4-5 hours/month)
