Promote engagement in the NPA QOD Tumor Registry for patients receiving surgery for most primary and metastatic intracranial tumors to optimize patient care

Project or Volunteer Experience Requirements

• AANS Member (FAANS, Provisional or Candidate)
• No more than 15 years out of training
• Ability to use social media and peer-to-peer networks to actively promote and encourage involvement in the NPA QOD Tumor Registry throughout the year
• Interest in measuring intracranial patient safety concerns and outcomes
• Interest in clinical research and publications
• Capable Editor/Writer
• Clinical trial knowledge
• Familiarity with regulatory issues (EU MDR and FDA requirements, CMS priorities, MVPs), a plus

Project Description

The NPA Tumor Registry Steering Committee is involved in marketing, measurement and reporting, and identifying key registry data with the goal to maximize involvement in collecting patient-reported outcomes measuring cognition impairment, physical function, QALY and cognitive function after surgery. AANS members, with fewer than 15 years out from training, looking to become involved in tumor registry and quality improvement efforts are encouraged to apply to potentially join the committee.

Project Tasks

1. Attend committee meetings and contribute to assigned projects for a 12-month committee term.
2. Support QOD Tumor Registry marketing efforts via peer-to-peer promotion; using social media and other appropriate distribution channels to expand markets
3. Write clinically relevant content for articles and newsletters
4. Inform clinically impactful registry measures, based on knowledge of healthcare organization and payer outcome priorities
5. Inform industry interaction with the treatment of intracranial tumor treatments and procedures managed by neurosurgeons

Project Commitment and Timeline

• Time Commitment: 12 month committee term (avg. of 4-5 hours/month)
