Project or Volunteer Experience Requirements
- AANS Member (FAANS, Provisional or Candidate)
- No more than 15 years out of training
- Ability to use social media and peer-to-peer networks to actively promote and encourage involvement in the NeuroVascular Quality Initiative-Quality Outcomes Database (NVQI-QOD) throughout the year
- Interest in clinical research and publications
- Capable Editor/Writer
- Knowledge of clinical trials and device development in endovascular care
- Familiarity with regulatory issues (EU MDR and FDA requirements, CMS priorities, MVPs), a plus
Project Description
The NPA NeuroVascular Quality Initiative-Quality Outcomes Database (NVQI-QOD) Steering Committee is involved in marketing, measurement and reporting, and identifying key registry data with the goal to maximize involvement in tracking procedures and outcomes for patients treated by surgery, endovascular therapy, or medical management. AANS members, with fewer than 15 years out from training, looking to become involved in neurosurgical neurovascular/endovascular and quality improvement efforts are encouraged to apply to potentially join the committee.
Project Tasks
- Attend committee meetings and contribute to assigned projects for a 12-month committee term.
- Support NVQI-QOD marketing efforts via peer-to-peer promotion; using social media and other appropriate distribution channels to expand markets
- Write clinically relevant content for articles and newsletters
- Inform clinically impactful registry measures, based on knowledge of payer outcome priorities
- Help identify growing clinical hot topic areas within neurovascular care in the areas of acute ischemic stroke, cerebral aneurysms, and/or arteriovenous malformations
Project Commitment and Timeline
- Time Commitment: 12 month committee term (avg. of 4-5 hours/month)
