The VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS) is seeking a full-time innovative and academically oriented Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) to oversees all administrative aspects of Geriatrics and Extended Care Service. He/she will have supervisory capacity over the Medical Directors for the different programs within GEC, along with any additional physicians or physician assistants who do not report to a Medical Director. He/she will work with the Nurse Manager to ensure compliance. The physician will provide coverage for the physicians in any of the GEC programs.
Incumbent will need to qualify for an academic appointment at Yale University School of Medicine to be selected. Minimum requirements include medical licensure and fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine. Board certification in Geriatric Medicine preferred but not required.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. The selectee must meet eligibility requirements.
