Internal Medicine Division: Cardiology
The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a full-time faculty structural interventional cardiologist to participate in the development of invasive and interventional services in the Division of Cardiology. This position is open rank and open track. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education. The successful candidate will provide excellent patient care and, as a member of New Mexico’s only academic medical center, actively participate in research and fellow education for which 20% protected time is allotted. Cath lab faculty also provide Invasive/Interventional services at the Albuquerque VA hospital, which provides tertiary care to veterans in New Mexico and western Texas. The two campuses provide ample opportunity for research, specialty coronary and non-coronary interventions, and fellow education.
Minimum Requirements: 1) Board certified in internal medicine by date of hire; 2) Board certified/Board eligible in interventional cardiology 3) Must be eligible to work in US 4) Demonstrated excellence in patient care 5) Proven ability to collaborate and work in teams and lead teams.
Desirable Qualifications: 1)Must have demonstrated excellence in patient care 2)Experience/interest in research 3) Experience/interest in resident/fellowship education.
4) A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
