We have an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist with the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (PH/TBI) Team at Naval Jacksonville Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Naval Hospital Jacksonville provides a medically ready force and quality health care to our active-duty military.
Job Description:
The Royster Group, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide healthcare support to our active-duty soldiers at Naval Jacksonville Hospital. This provider will be part of the Psychological Health initiative under the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (PH/TBI) program. The program seeks to address gaps in the care available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. Through adopting risk-based staffing models and a uniform, best practice standard of care across the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System, the program seeks to ensure easy, rapid access to PH and TBI care for all beneficiaries.
DUTIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Be capable of adequately diagnosing and performing psychiatric evaluations.
- Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
- Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed.
- Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.
- Participate in peer review and performance improvement activities.
- Participate in meetings to review and evaluate the care provided to patients, identify opportunities to improve the care delivered, and recommend corrective action when problems exist.
- Perform efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
- Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others' rights, as identified within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Provide training and direction applicable to supporting government employees, e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
- Current Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology be certified as a Psychiatrist.
- A residency program involves training in a specialized field of medicine in a hospital or an institution accredited for training in the specialty by an appropriate accrediting body.
Work Schedule:
- Services shall be provided Monday – Friday between 0730 and 1630 for an 8.5 or 9-hour period, including an uncompensated 30- or 60-minute meal break, respectively. Services will typically not be required on the day of observance of Federal holidays unless the HCW is providing on-call services.
On-Call Services:
- The provider will be required to provide on-call services for inpatient consultation after hours once every four weeks for seven consecutive days. The on-call duty is rotated with other Psychiatrists in the Mental Health Department.
LICENSURE:
- Current, complete, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last ten years.
- Must be current with and have completed all continuing education (CME) requirements specified by their professional licensure or certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
