Chief of Urology, Department of Urology

Massachusetts General Hospital, a major Boston teaching hospital and affiliate of Harvard Medical School, seeks a Chief to lead the Department of Urology.

The Chief will lead all aspects of the clinical practice, educational programs, research laboratories and philanthropic components of the Department of Urology at Massachusetts General Hospital, overseeing financial, personnel/faculty development, facilities/space, strategic planning and all other business and administrative functions across all sites of care.  As Department Chief, this individual will also serve as an institutional leader within Massachusetts General Hospital and at a system level within Mass General Brigham, and will participate in various efforts and committees.  S/he will help to lead institutional strategic planning and development activities and quality and safety initiatives.  The Department Chief will seek to further the teaching and research missions of the institution, and as such, must qualify for a Harvard Medical School appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level. 

The Department Chief must also be a role model for clinical scientists and surgeons in training.  The position, therefore, requires an outstanding surgeon who is a distinguished national and international leader in Urology as well as an exemplary teacher, with a background and outstanding accomplishments in research.  The individual must have experience administering a sizable clinical enterprise.
