Since it opened its doors in 1915, Henry Ford hospital has a reputation of providing for the growing needs of the community. From its 48-patient capacity start, growth and expansion throughout the last century has morphed Henry Ford Hospital into an 877-bed tertiary care center, Level I Trauma Center, and one of the largest teaching hospitals in the United States. Additionally, the institution has grown to include Henry Ford Allegiance, Macomb, Wyandotte, West Bloomfield, and Kingswood Hospitals, multiple specialty care services, community care services, and research and education initiatives. All told, currently the system provides 3.2 million patient visits annually.
The current faculty are working to establish a 6-year integrated dual-degree training program, affiliated with Michigan State University School of Human Medicine and the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School. We are interested energetic, enthusiastic, motivated and talented surgeon to join our faculty and be involved in this residency building process.
In addition to the in-hospital practice, Henry Ford OMFS has just opened a state of the art clinic in Royal Oak, Michigan. This facility has 6 fully capable and OMFS dedicated treatment rooms, two sedation recovery bays, and a digital workflow with CBCT, intraoral scanners, and 3D printers. In addition, the RO location has fully staffed OR s. This location provides an opportunity to develop a faculty practice in the community that has the capability to support all aspects of ambulatory Oral & Maxillofacial surgery.
Additionally, new hires will be eligible for academic promotion through Michigan State University.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates are those who care deeply about resident education and want to be involved in creating a program dedicated to resident education and training. We are looking for talented, independent surgeons interested in full scope OMFS practice, resident teaching, and research. Surgeons who actively participate in full scope hospital-based care and residency training will be given the highest consideration.
Candidates considered for the position must be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and must be able to secure a Michigan State Dental and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery License prior to their appointment.
