Hospital-employed Hospitalist group seeks additional Internal Medicine residency trained physicians to join a robust, rapidly growing practice as a Hospitalist. Southeast Health is a 420-bed regional referral in Dothan, Alabama and it manages its own Hospitalist program. The current practice includes more than 25 full-time board-certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist physicians. Daily, 12 physicians work the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift and 2 physicians will each have an IM resident provide care during the 7 p.m. 7 a.m. shift. Average daily census is 15-20 patients per provider on day shift and 8-10 patients per provider on night shift.

Provide coverage for unassigned patients who present to ED requiring inpatient care, care for transfers and inhospital consults
Admit and co-manage with Intensivist support adult patients in Critical Care Unit no procedures required
24/7 Pulm/Critical care support for all CC admissions
Manage patients in clinical decision unit
24 hour subspecialty support available for all specialties including presence of in house radiology physician presence 24/7
12 hour work shifts, no call required
Average schedule is 16 shifts per month
Flexible, individualized scheduling
Provide limited coverage for select private practice primary care patients
Utilize in-house electronic medical records, PACS, and physician portal
Participate in quality initiatives with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine
