Med Dir-Home Health Hospice & Palliative Care

MultiCare Health System seeks a board-certified Medical Director for Home Health and Hospice to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. As Medical Director, you will lead an established group, building a more robust and comprehensive program. Ideal candidates will be instrumental in ensuring high satisfaction and quality outcomes.

As Medical Director you will:

• Oversee the medical component of the Hospice plan of care for each patient
• Provides medical support as needed to the Home Health.
• Have a standardized core set of qualifications, duty obligations and responsibilities
• Be knowledgeable about the psychosocial and medical aspects of hospice care, reviews, coordinates, be responsible for the management of clinical and medical care for all patients in the program
• Participate in the quality management and educational programs for the staff and patients as well as in the overall strategic planning and development of Home Health and Hospice services
• Actively participate and provide leadership in quality management, physician performance issues, clinical guideline development, patient satisfaction initiatives and utilization review
• Provide oversight for the hospice provider team, participates in Peer Review, Quality Review and communication, providing feedback to physicians/NPs regarding clinical and performance issues
• Supports and/or participates in MHS self-regulatory, quality control and/or service enhancement efforts and initiatives, including without limitation MHS s Corporate Compliance Program, internal and external audit activities, credentialing processes, peer review proceedings, utilization management programs, quality improvement programs, discharge planning processes, treatment and other protocols, and pharmaceutical formularies

What you will need:

• Board certified/eligible in Hospice and Palliative Care at time of employment
• Licensed in the state of WA by the time of employment
• DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
