SUMMARY

The Department of Medicine at Hennepin Healthcare System (HHS) in downtown Minneapolis seeks a full-time faculty position for a physician (MD/DO) whose research expertise focuses on health equity, health disparities and health services.  Successful candidate will join a robust and expanding Research Scholars program across the health system. 

Methodologic and content expertise across a diverse spectrum of areas will be considered (e.g., Primary Care, Health Services, Health Equity, Women’s Health, Cardiovascular Diseases, Oncology, Integrative Health, etc.) The position includes up to five years of 75% protected time for research, with the remaining time dedicated to clinical and educational endeavors. Generous research start-up funds are available.

 
The Department of Medicine is connected to academic programs at the University of Minnesota, the Mayo Clinic, and other large health systems in Minnesota. HHS includes a network of downtown and community-based primary and specialty care clinics and the state’s largest safety net hospital. HHS is a major teaching affiliate of the University of Minnesota, located 10 minutes away. The faculty member is eligible for an ‘Academic Track’ faculty appointment at  University of Minnesota Medical School.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Degree in respective discipline 
  • Board Certification in respective discipline
  • Minnesota licensure in respective discipline
  • Research experience required, as is demonstrated interest in applying for foundation or federal grant support  
  • Board eligible in Medicine or a primary care field
