Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare/Rio Grande Regional Medical Center is seeking a bread and butter general surgeon to join a general/bariatric surgeon in McAllen, TX.

Qualified Candidates:

• The incoming surgeon will need to have completed a general surgery residency, or can also have fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery, bariatrics, or even vascular-based training
• The surgeon will need to be board certified, or board eligible pending certification from training in residency or fellowship
• Must be able to obtain or maintain an active and clear Texas medical license
• Ability to work in the US as a citizen or green card holder - practice is also willing to sponsor an H1B visa surgeon
• Spanish speaking physician is strongly desired, but not required for the position
• Must be willing to help cover for bariatrics
• The practice is also willing to consider a bariatric/minimally invasive surgeon
• Join a very busy general/bariatric surgeon in private practice

Incentive/Benefits Package:

• Rio Grande Regional Hospital will provide a competitive, salary guarantee contract for the new recruit
• Hospital package will include incremental expense and practice startup costs
• Package will also include relocation and marketing allowance, plus sign-on bonus
• Practice will offer an "eat what you earn" contract
• Paid call available

About the Practice:

• Current surgeon has 15+ years of practice experience, and runs a very successful surgical/bariatric practice
• Looking to grow and expand to meet the volume needs of practice
• Volume is currently a 60% general surgery, 40% bariatric mix of patients
• Current physician sees close to 1500 surgical cases per year, and covers two major hospitals in South Texas
• Practice does not cover trauma work
• Two da Vinci robots available at Rio Grande Regional Hospital to assist with MIS/bariatric volume
