OCHSNER HEALTH BATON ROUGE OCHSNER CANCER INSTITUTE
Ochsner Cancer Institute is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible OTOLARYNGOLOGIST - HEAD AND NECK SURGEON to join its expanding multidisciplinary surgical group practice, serving the needs of cancer patients in the Greater Baton Rouge area. This surgeon will establish a permanent presence in Baton Rouge and be fully integrated into the Ochsner Head and Neck Surgical Oncology program, based at our Main Campus in New Orleans with hubs at our regional cancer centers in Baton Rouge and Covington, Louisiana, at the St. Tammany Cancer Center. Working with shared clinical pathways and in a transparent quality framework, the Ochsner Head and Neck Team strives to elevate the quality of cancer care in the state of Louisiana and across the Gulf South. The Ochsner Head and Neck Team is a multi-disciplinary effort which includes
nationally renowned board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeons, radiation and medical oncology experts, nurse practitioners, a team of nurses with deep experience in caring for patients before, during and after surgery, and a dedicated nurse navigator who provides convenient scheduling and directs patients and families to community resources, including speech therapy, nutrition advice and psychosocial oncology.
The head and neck surgical oncologist will benefit from an integrated practice model and built-in referral network offering a broad range of general to complex cases from the Baton Rouge, central, and western Louisiana regions. Surgeries are performed at Ochsner Medical Center Baton Rouge and Ochsner Medical Complex - The Grove Surgery Center with set OR schedules and Da Vinci robot available at both locations. Complex cases involving free tissue transfer or skull base procedures will be performed at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans in partnership with the New Orleans team and with full support of residents and medical students. Potential research and teaching opportunities are available. The ideal candidate for this position thrives in a collaborative work environment in a community practice setting, is committed to excellence in patient care and is eager to build upon a growing oncology program within the Baton Rouge region. The Ochsner Cancer Center Baton Rouge features an expanding team of radiation and medical oncologists, increasing clinical trial capabilities, and a full complement of support personnel; we are building out multidisciplinary capabilities in the regional cancer center, with enhanced subspecialty focus in all facets of cancer care.

The Baton Rouge Cancer Center is a growing, integrated enterprise across 3 sites, featuring multidisciplinary clinics with surgical subspecialists, radiation oncology, integrative and supportive services. The Baton Rouge practice is further enhanced by access to the Ochsner Cancer Institute clinical research portfolio, including the region s only Phase 1 program, plus a number of innovative digital programs. The Comprehensive Cancer Center in Baton Rouge is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar expansion to support the rapid growth of the programs in this region, and over $100 million has been invested in the Ochsner Cancer Institute over the past 3 years.
