Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center-Shreveport seek candidates for a full-time faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as Chief in the Division of Surgical Oncology as part of our Department of Surgery, Chaired by R. Keith White, MD. Candidates must be board certified in general surgery, have completed a surgical oncology fellowship, and eligible for Louisiana licensure.

The Division of Surgical Oncology:

  • Work in a tertiary care hospital serving an urban and rural population of approximately 2.5 million, encompassing 25,000 square miles in Louisiana, East Texas, and Southwestern Arkansas.
  • The emphasis of this recruitment is for a general surgical oncologist though the opportunity will be provided to develop a disease-specific focus including gastrointestinal tumors.
  • Academic practice involving patient care, resident, and medical student education, and clinical and/or basic science research. Publishing is highly encouraged.
  • Collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians at the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center (FWCC), a designated Center for Excellence in Cancer Research, Treatment, and Education, to provide comprehensive patient care.
