Opportunity Details

Currently seeking Family Medicine, Associate Program Director to assist the Program Director in the implementation of strategic planning and execution of educational operations for a 4-4-4 Family Medicine Residency Program based in the heart of the Cedar Valley. This position will aid in the growth and success of the program while continually aligning with the core mission and values of the MercyOne Northeast Iowa Waterloo Family Medicine Residency Program. Join our Program Director and dedicated team of Family Medicine Physicians who are passionate about graduate medical education and superior patient care.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively teach residents in an inpatient and clinical setting
  • Oversee the education and performance of residents in an inpatient and outpatient environment
  • OB Optional
  • Oversee 1-2 program wide quality improvement projects
  • Provide 10-12 lectures on various topics throughout the year
  • Act as a resource for other faculty regarding administrative concerns and issues
  • May represent the Program Director in hospital, statewide or community committees or activities as needed
  • May attend Board Meetings, Finance Committee meetings or other committee gatherings in the director s absence

Candidates

  • Must have board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, or specialty qualifications that are acceptable to the Review Committee
  • EOE/drug screen required
  • Candidates are required to have at least 5 years of clinical experience in Family Medicine and at least three years as a core faculty member in an ACGME-Accredited Family Medicine Residency Program
  • Inpatient and administrative experience preferred
