Position description

 


The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and Physiology in the Department of Medicine (http://med.ucsd.edu (http://med.ucsd.edu)) at University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body is actively recruiting for academic and research physicians at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks.

Our physician support and dedication to teaching, research and clinical excellence has created multiple faculty and contractual staff positions available to support UC San Diego Health locations: UCSD Hillcrest and La Jolla, CA hospitals, as well as, our affiliated hospitals throughout San Diego, Riverside and Imperial Counties.

The Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and Physiology program support and facilities are exceptional. The ideal applicant with training and experience in one or more of the following clinical and/or academic interests are encouraged to apply:
1) General Pulmonary: Inpatient consultation and Outpatient clinical experience
2) Critical Care
3) Sleep Medicine
4) Cystic Fibrosis
5) Advanced Lung Disease
6) Transplant
7) Pulmonary Vascular Medicine
8) Interventional Pulmonary
9) Physiology

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. In-Residence appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD and/or PhD in health science or related fields.

Candidates with an MD must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates with an MD must also have board certification/eligibility within at least one specialty: Pulmonary, Critical Care, and/or Sleep Medicine.
