Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for experienced Gastroenterologists to join the Division of Gastroenterology.

Preferred candidates would be currently at the Associate Professor rank or above with experience and interest in inflammatory bowel disease, small bowel disorders, and motility/functional bowel disease. RUMC is part of a large health system focused on patient care, teaching, and research. The position will include clinical care (outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopy), training of residents and fellows, and supporting the academic mission. More specifically, the Division of Gastroenterology is part of the Digestive Diseases Service Line which integrates clinical care, teaching, and research efforts to advance the fields associated with digestive diseases. The faculty are part of an integrated team of clinicians and researchers who also collaborate with allergy/immunology (GI/adverse reactions to food clinic), colorectal surgery and oncology (a comprehensive clinic for gastrointestinal cancers), bariatric surgery, upper GI surgery (Barrett’s esophagus and achalasia), ENT, pathology, and neurology.

Rush GI has consistently been recognized as one of the top programs across the nation. The most recent US News and World Reports placed Rush University Medical Center as #21 in Gastroenterology & GI in the nation. Additionally, our training program continues to provide the GI subspecialty with exceptionally trained physicians. The three-year fellowship program also offers advanced therapeutic training (one 4th year fellow per year).

Digestive Diseases patients within the Rush health system receive clinical care across multiple hospitals and locations: Rush University Medical Center (main campus), Rush Oak Brook, Rush Oak Park Hospital, and other off-site locations across the Chicagoland area). In an effort to meet the demand for Rush Digestive Disease experts, additional clinical sites are also being developed.
