Pediatric Emergency Medicine Faculty Positions at the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City
The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City is currently recruiting physicians to join the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Full time, part time, and per diem BC/BE PEM Faculty positions with immediate start dates and those commencing in the 2022 academic year are available.
The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine is responsible for over 80,000 pediatric visits a year across the Mount Sinai Health System. The Pediatric Emergency Departments are part of vibrant, socioeconomically and culturally diverse communities and serves families from all 5 boroughs of New York City. We provide family-centered care in self-enclosed units with PEM fellows, pediatric focused nursing, child life specialists, music therapy, medical students and resident house staff from five leading residency programs. Our integrated faculty have a well-balanced and individualized professional development program and can take advantage of clinical, research, and teaching opportunities. We are engaged in grant-funded research in simulation, resuscitation, debriefing, observation medicine, medical informatics and quality improvement.
The Mount Sinai Emergency Medicine Department is one of the largest in the country, affiliated with Elmhurst Hospital Center, a trauma center, affiliated with Mount Sinai Urgent Care Network and is part of NYC’s public health system. The Emergency Medicine Service Line has over 200 faculty and treats over 500K patients annually. The Department is ranked among the top five (5) academic emergency departments among medical schools in the United States in National Institutes of Health funding. Each year, the Department educates approximately 150 residents and over 15 fellows in two residency and 8 fellowship training programs.
The Mount Sinai Hospital is the central Pediatric Emergency Department in the Mount Sinai Health System, providing care to over 26,000 children annually. We have a fantastic PEM Fellowship and 10 PEM faculty dedicated to the care of children. Kravis Children’s Hospital at Mount Sinai provides cutting edge, quaternary specialty care across all specialties, including an emerging acute ECMO program. We are opening a newly renovated and expanded Pediatric EM space in January 2022.
The Pediatric Emergency Services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel with an annual volume of 12,500 children is comprised of an EMS-receiving Pediatric Emergency Department as well as the region’s only Pediatric Observation Unit, staffed by 11 PEM faculty and pediatric hospitalists. We also provide PEM support via a growing telemedicine infrastructure to the Health System and community.
Mount Sinai Morningside Medical Center’s Emergency Department has an 11-bed separate Pediatric ED staffed by 5 full time, board certified PEM faculty. With annual visits of approximately 20,000, we see a variety of pediatric emergencies; including level II trauma. Our clinical coverage is between 0800-0200. We have a full complement of pediatric subspecialty consultation services. Our division is currently very involved in EM resident education, and have a number of ongoing clinical research projects.

- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- Current New York Medical License
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM)
- Clinical and administrative experience preferred
