The Division of Endocrinology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, IL is seeking a full-time faculty member to serve in the role of Program Director for the division s fellowship. The division supports a two-year fellowship with a total of four trainees in the program. Applicants must be three or more years out from fellowship training and have a track record of significant administrative and leadership responsibility. Experience as an Associate Program Director or Program Director is preferred but not required. The successful applicant will have primary administrative and leadership responsibility for the fellowship, serve on the Graduate Medical Education Committee, and work with the Division Chief, Associate Program Director, faculty members, and Fellowship Coordinator to provide a first-rate educational experience for the division s trainees.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of formal specialty training program in Endocrinology with three or more years experience; Graduate of accredited medical school program; Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine or eligibility for ABIM; Diplomate of the American Board of Endocrinology Medicine or eligibility for Endocrinology Board; Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Illinois or Licensed by the State of Illinois prior to employment; Experience providing services to multicultural populations; experience dealing with underrepresented minority populations. This position has been designated as security sensitive and employment is contingent upon the results of a background investigation. This position is sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
Desired Qualifications: Experience working in an academic environment; Significant administrative and leadership experience (e.g. worked as an APD or Program Director).
