Endocrinology Physician - Physician Scientist/Clinical Researcher

Job Summary: The Ohio State University Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism is seeking applications for an Endocrinology Physician - Physician Scientist/Clinical Researcher position with an established interest in diabetes, obesity, and/or insulin resistance. Experience as a board-certified academic physician is desired with experience and a track-record in clinical and/or translational research in diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, and/or related areas. The successful candidate will establish or maintain an independent clinical and/or translational research program, working with our existing extensive Endocrine Clinical Trials Unit and our Diabetes and Metabolism Research Center. The successful candidate will also serve as a member of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, within the Department of Internal Medicine and will provide direct and indirect patient care services in inpatient and outpatient settings. Other responsibilities include serving as a research and clinical educator and mentor for medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism and participation in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities as appropriate.
Required Qualifications: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine required; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required. Completion of an accredited residency in internal medicine and a fellowship training program in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism with board certification is required.
