DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse population of individuals to assess, advise and perform procedures on a variety of sports related injuries in an academic setting. The department provides coverage for local professional teams, Division 1 university, junior college, and high school athletics. This position is for a female Orthopedic Surgeon who has an interest and expertise in the care of sports injuries in the female athlete. The surgeon will join a team of 12 other orthopedic surgeons, 2 primary care sports medicine physicians, orthopedic NP/PAs, and nurses.  You will be expected to be actively involved in research and to teach and mentor our orthopedic residents, sports medicine fellow, and medical students through the Mayo Medical School campus in Phoenix/Scottsdale. Board-certified/board-eligible in Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty certification in sports medicine; fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine; eligible for medical licensure in Arizona. Over the next four years, Mayo Clinic is making significant investments in both the physical and technological future of health care, through doubling the size of the Mayo Clinic campus in Phoenix, inclusive of practice, education, and research activities.
