Providence Medford Medical Center is seeking an experienced physician leader to serve as the Acute Care Services Medical Director. The Acute Care Services (ACS) Medical Director will provide physician leadership and oversight of acute care services by integrating system, regional, service area, clinical program, and hospital objectives into the provision of safe, high quality patient care in collaboration with the professional medical staff. In addition to clinical oversight, the director's responsibilities will include maintaining quality assurance and quality improvement processes, in addition to monitoring utilization reviews, to ensure the highest standards of patient care/safety, and efficiencies in operations. In addition to clinical issues, the ACS's responsibilities will include participating in quality assurance/quality improvement activities in the intensive care unit, medical-surgical units, emergency department and hospital-based outpatient departments. The ACS will also participate in utilization review monitoring and partner with the hospital executive team in guiding the development of the vision, strategic plans, and priorities of the acute care services. The ACS will also facilitate cohesive, amiable, and productive working relationships among all groups involved in acute care services.

  • Directing all aspects of operations to ensure alignment with the mission, values and objectives of the program, Providence Medford Medical Center, and Providence Health & Services.
  • Chair the Acute Care Executive Committee (AEC), and serve on other committees as appropriate
  • Model and utilize caring reliably tools to promote a culture of safety and an acute care medicine program founded on high reliability practices.
  • Facilitating communication among various hospital departments, medical staff, administration, and physicians in the community.
  • Working as a liaison and advocate for administrative needs of the hospital, while aligning with the needs of the patients and caregivers working in the OR and/or MPU.
  • Provide medical services in compliance with bylaws, rural and regulations of the medical staff.
  • MD/DO degree from an accredited university with board certification in a medical specialty is required. Advance graduate training in health or business administration desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience as a physician leader with responsibility for clinical quality and physician leadership development and education within an integrated delivery system, health plan, and/or medical group required.
  • An individual with strong emotional and social intelligence, and a demonstrated ability to connect with others in a meaningful way at all levels of the organization, especially physicians, surgeons and hospital leadership.
