The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Center for Aging and Serious Illness at the Mongan Institute invites applications for a faculty position in Aging or Serious Illness Research at the Instructor, Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. The position provides outstanding opportunities for collaboration with translational investigators across the MGH, Mass General Brigham, and Harvard scientific communities.

Applicants must hold a PhD and/or MD degree (or the equivalent) and have growing expertise in gerontology/geriatrics or palliative care research. The successful candidate will develop a program of research in any of a number of potential areas of research in gerontology or geriatric/palliative medicine including, but not limited to chronic illness and aging (including HIV, dementia, advanced cardiac, liver, and renal disease), supportive and palliative care in cancer, biopsychosocial interventions to address illness burden, health disparities, and evaluation of health policy and delivery system initiatives related to geriatrics or palliative care. Research addressing population health, implementation science, and the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups is highly desirable. For physician candidates, board certification or board eligibility in geriatrics and/or palliative care is preferred.
Interested candidates should send a personal statement, including research interest, and Curriculum Vitae to James Breed, Administrative Director of the Division of Palliative Care and Geriatric Medicine at JBREED@MGH.HARVARD.EDU.
