Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is seeking an experienced Occupational Medicine physician to provide intermittent coverage at an ambulatory clinic located in Fruitland, Idaho.

The Occupational Medicine team is currently supported by five Occupational Medicine physicians and four APPs with clinics located in Boise, Nampa, Caldwell, and Fruitland. The schedule will be as needed, for vacation and CME coverage. There is no call associated with this opportunity.

Support includes the following: hospital-based imaging services include a 24/7 radiology department with in-house coverage for general Radiology and CT; after hours coverage for Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine;  MRI; Comprehensive Breast Center; and DR image capture technology.    

The qualified candidate will exude passion about Occupational Medicine and demonstrate evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, and problem-solving capabilities. The candidate should have a working knowledge of OSHA and health and safety regulations.

Requirements for this opportunity include the following:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree;
  • Board Certification through the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), or obtain certification within three years;
  • Obtain Idaho & Oregon medical licensure and granting of privileges at SAMC- Ontario and other health system affiliated hospitals, as needed;
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Fruitland, Idaho is located in southwestern Idaho, one hour west of Boise. Fruitland, a small rural community of just over 4,600 residents, is the geographic center of the surrounding cities of Ontario, Payette, Weiser, and New Plymouth.
