The University of Michigan Department of Pediatrics is seeking an experienced clinician-scholar to serve as the Director of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. The Director will lead a division that currently includes 11 board-certified pediatric endocrinologists and 5 certified diabetes educators. Four faculty members lead NIH-funded research programs (including 3 R01-funded investigators). The Division has a long-standing tradition of providing multidisciplinary care in endocrine and metabolic disorders. The Pediatric Diabetes program provides state-of-the-art care to patients and families across the state of Michigan. In addition, the Division is renowned for expertise in disorders of growth and puberty, obesity, neuroendocrine disorders, and adrenal and thyroid disorders. The division is also the exclusive provider of newborn endocrinology follow-up services for the state Neonatal Screening Program of the State of Michigan. The Division has also spearheaded the development of several innovative multidisciplinary programs addressing the special needs and care of patients with disorders of sex development, polycystic ovarian syndrome, transgender/gender dysphoria, and Prader-Willi syndrome. Finally, faculty members are collaborating with other pediatric specialties for the coordination of long-term care of patients with Turner syndrome and osteogenesis imperfecta. The Pediatric Endocrine surgery program is unique in Michigan and has reached national prominence.
Faculty members actively participate in the education of pediatric residents and medical students in the classroom and the clinical setting. The division also has a superb Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship training program which is supported by a NIH T32 training grant focusing on the developmental origins of metabolic disorders.
The Division Director is expected to lead and expand programs to deliver state-of-the-art endocrinology care and research, and to promote the academic career development of faculty and fellows. Competitive candidates should have a strong track record of scholarship and national recognition in their field as well as a dedication to clinical excellence. Candidates should be eligible for appointment as Associate/Full Professor.

The Department of Pediatrics includes 17 clinical divisions and over 250 faculty members. C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, a 1.1 million square foot, 12 story, 348-bed facility that opened in 2011, is located on the University of Michigan medical campus. Requirements include an MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Michigan, and certification by the American Board of Pediatrics, Pediatric Endocrinology sub-board. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in clinical and didactic teaching is expected.
