The Department of Surgery is currently seeking a highly motivated and successful individual for Chief of Orthopedic Surgery to practice and oversee all clinical activities, provide leadership and support for all academic programs. The Chief will also serve as a faculty member of a strong academic training program, create policies that drive improvements in quality and safety, and continue to grow the robust Orthopedic Surgical Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The Orthopedic Surgical Service performs the full spectrum of orthopedic procedures. The surgeons of the Orthopedic Service are committed to providing the highest quality of care to patients with primary bone cancers and musculoskeletal soft tissue tumors, as well as metastatic bone tumors from breast, prostate, lung, and other cancers. The Service, led by Dr. John H. Healey since 1991, takes part in MSK’s multidisciplinary approach to patient care, which includes surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, neurology, and plastic surgery to ensure the best disease and functional outcomes for patients.

The ideal candidate would:

  • Strong clinical leader with experience driving improvements in quality and safety
  • Board certification in Orthopedics and fellowship training
  • Commitment to academic excellence including prior experience in resident and fellow education and clinical research
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong clinical background, and keen understanding of how to drive and maintain clinical quality standards
  • Licensed in the State of New York
