Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Psychiatry
College of Physicians and Surgeons
Department of Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University is inviting applications for a tenure-track faculty position within our Anxiety and Mood Disorders Research Area at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment with departmental faculty to implement a clinical research program consistent with the National Institute for Mental Health’s experimental therapeutics approach. Such research seeks to understand the factors that cause or sustain mood and anxiety disorders and determine whether engagement of these targets with novel intervention strategies effectively reduces symptoms. Research by the successful candidate may include identification of illness mechanisms at the neural (e.g., MRI, PET, EEG) or behavioral level, with associated psychological, behavioral, or biological interventions. As the candidate will work closely with clinical researchers and basic neuroscientists across institutions within the department (Columbia and the New York State Psychiatric Institute), a track record of working in and leading large collaborative efforts is required.
The successful candidate will contribute to the intellectual vitality of the Department of Psychiatry and will be engaged in basic and translational collaborative work with basic and clinical researchers, and with researchers including faculty within and beyond the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia.
