Being part of something greater, of serving a larger mission of discovery and care that's the heart of what drives people to work at Michigan. In some way, great or small, every person here helps to advance this world-class institution. It's adding a purpose to your profession. Work at Michigan and become a victor for the greater good.

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School is presently recruiting for a surgical faculty physician to join the lower extremity (hip and knee) adult reconstruction service. Besides patient care, specific duties also include teaching medical students, house officers and fellows and conducting/participating in clinical outcomes research. The ideal candidate will be Fellowship trained with an interest in resident and fellow education, as well as clinical research and scholarly activity. Additional opportunities to work with the affiliated VA service and/or with our existing arthroplasty registry (Michigan Arthroplasty Registry Collaborative Quality Initiative) are also possible.

Candidates should possess an M.D./D.O. and be board certified or eligible for certification; completed specialty fellowship training in hip and knee reconstruction surgery; hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan; demonstrate outstanding teaching and clinical care abilities; have associated research interests; and should have interest in clinical outcome studies.

It is desirable for candidates to have experience and skill caring for patients from diverse backgrounds and working with/mentoring diverse populations in academic training.

This is an excellent opportunity in a unique clinical practice with teaching and research at this major medical center while living in one of the best small cities in the country.
