The Minneapolis VA Health Care System, a major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Minnesota, has an opening for a Staff Electrophysiologist in our Cardiology section. The Cardiac electrophysiology (EP) section consists of 3 full time Academic Electrophysiologists, 3 NPs and 4 dedicated device clinic RNs, who jointly care for a high volume of patients. We perform an entire spectrum of EP procedures including novel device therapies / physiologic pacing, all kinds of ablations, ethanol infusion, coil embolization, therapies for complex VT, including epicardial VT ablation, and structural procedures such as LA appendage closure. In addition, we have a strong research portfolio (both multicenter trials and investigator initiated clinical and pre-clinical studies).

The candidates must be a Board Eligible / Board-Certified Cardiac Electrophysiologists and must demonstrate significant expertise in all facets of cardiac electrophysiology. Formal fellowship training and/or significant experience as the primary operator in advanced ablations, particularly atrial fibrillation ablation, is important. The successful candidate will need to show academic excellence, as demonstrated by peer reviewed publications, presentations at major scientific meetings and/or active participation in ongoing research. The selected candidate will have an academic appointment through the University of Minnesota at a level that is appropriate with academic achievements. There will be significant opportunities to participate in the teaching of students, residents and fellows, both cardiology and electrophysiology.

Work Schedule: Full time; Days

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
