The Department of General Internal Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a dynamic physician for a full-time, clinical track, faculty position as a Rheumatologist/Clinical Immunologist. The ideal candidate will have an interest in the evaluation and management of rheumatic and autoimmune disorders in patients with cancer, including treatment of immune-related adverse events caused by cancer immunotherapy.
Clinical responsibilities include providing patient care in outpatient and inpatient settings. The faculty member will work with other departments to take advantage of our outstanding clinical and research environment. In addition, he/she will contribute to educational activities related to the training of rheumatology fellows and internal medicine residents and will participate in collaborative academic activities. We would expect the successful candidate to become a national expert in the clinical evaluation and management of rheumatic comorbidities and adverse events in patients with cancer. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with other faculty in a team-oriented environment will be important.
Applicants should possess a MD degree, be board certified or eligible for certification in Rheumatology. Additional board certifications related to this field such as in Allergy and Immunology, or Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, while not required, will be considered an asset. Faculty rank and tenure will be determined according to the applicant’s credentials.
