Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician
The Division of Rehabilitation Medicine in the Department of Orthopedics at Denver Health is recruiting for an intermittent Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician to join our team in Denver, Colorado.
Our Rehabilitation service consists of 8 inpatient rehabilitation unit, inpatient consultation service along with general PM&R and electrodiagnostic outpatient clinics. We have a wonderful multi-disciplinary team comprised of physicians including primary care and specialists, nurses, therapists, rehab technicians, focused on the rehabilitation of vulnerable patient population with disabling conditions from trauma related injuries including traumatic brain and spinal cord injury, amputee, stroke, polytrauma, etc. As a safety net institution, Denver Health mission is to serve the patient’s needs, regardless of their ability to pay.
Our PM&R division is also part of the multi-disciplinary treatment of traumatic peripheral nerve injuries acting as the primary diagnostic service for our orthopedic/ hand specialists.
Clinical responsibilities will involve shared duties with 2 partners focused primarily on outpatient electrodiagnostic studies (EMGs) with occasional cross coverage in inpatient consultation service. During the week, the inpatient rehabilitation unit is staffed by the PM&R Physician from Denver Health and weekend coverage is shared between Denver Health and the University of Colorado PM&R providers who work collaboratively to provide care for patients at both institutions.
Denver Health is an affiliate hospital of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Health Sciences and acts as a primary training site for residents in PM&R, medical students and allied health care professionals.
