Director of the Division of Gastroenterology
Brown Medicine Inc. and the Miriam and Rhode Island Hospitals seek a Director of the Division of Gastroenterology. The Division of Gastroenterology is comprised of 13-full time faculty. Endoscopic services are provided at several in-patient and out-patient units. A well-established fellowship program accepts 3 fellows (expansion to 4 next year) annually. The Division is distinguished by regional leadership in inflammatory bowel disease, translational microbiome science, advanced and capsule endoscopy, viral hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and gastrointestinal malignancies.

The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Applicants should have attained national/international recognition in the field, evidenced by involvement in academic societies, experience in attracting extramural funding and scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements include board certification in gastroenterology, a record of successful leadership in academic medicine, excellent communication skills and a broad understanding of the health care landscape. The individual will be expected to have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
