The University of Utah Division of Emergency Medicine is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join the faculty as a tenure track research faculty.

Opportunities of this position include:

  • Participate in Emergency Medicine resident and fellow research education.
  • Mentor trainees in research.
  • Assist with planning, evaluation, and coordination of research projects.
  • Supervise research staff.
  • Serve as a Principal Investigator on extramural funded grants and contracts.

Candidates should ideally possess an advanced degree in research (PhD, MS, etc) or Emergency Medicine research fellowship training, as well as a track record of publications. The successful applicant will combine administrative, clinical, and teaching responsibilities. Prior grant funding is not required, but strongly preferred.

Candidates will join our current research team that has established a strong research foundation and expertise in both clinical and translational research. Our growing research division has over $4.4 million in active grant funding.  Current research endeavors include large animal translational models for trauma and cardiac arrest, development of new endovascular therapies for resuscitation, utilization of automation and artificial intelligence to provide safer care, as well as numerous clinical trials involving pulmonary embolism risk stratification and treatment, acute coronary syndrome (ACS) risk stratification, and pain management/opioid dependence treatment. We seek to recruit motivated individual that will enrich and complete our current portfolio while nurturing our collaborative research endeavors.
