The Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Department of Neurological Surgery at Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Neurosurgeon for a full-time position in a dynamic academic medical environment. This exciting opportunity is located just off the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital, the top pediatric hospital in Illinois with academic affiliation with the region's top-ranking Department of Neurological Surgery of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Over the past several years, our department's outstanding scientific achievements have accumulated the most federally funded and NIH awards in the area among peers in our specialty.

Lurie Children's Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery is one of the largest and busiest in North America. Our Pediatric Neurosurgeons care for more children with disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves than any other hospital in Illinois. Our vision for this position is both  expansion of existing programs and development of new interdisciplinary programs to serve children and young adults with complex care needs and transition them from specialized pediatric to adult care.

Together with Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, we are pushing the bounds of scientific discovery in our research labs, training the next generation of physicians and scientists, and pursuing excellence in patient care. Qualified candidates will be a board eligible/board certified neurosurgeon; advanced training in an accredited neurosurgery fellowship required.  The ideal candidate will possess advanced training and experience in pediatric neurosurgery, as well as functional neurosurgery in children with an interest in treating cerebral palsy, spasticity, movement disorders, pain, and rare diseases in the pediatric population.  Ability to obtain active Illinois medical licensure prior to start date required.

Salary will be commensurate with training and level of experience. Rank and tenure status will be determined based on qualifications. The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.
