Palliative Care Opportunity
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent part-time (0.5 FTE) employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Palliative Care Physician to join its inpatient palliative care service located in Boise, Idaho.
SAMG is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the quality and efficiency of health care for patients with chronic conditions. Its team of palliative providers provide hospital-based, interdisciplinary team consultations for patients in need of palliative care, as well as continuing education on palliative care topics for Saint Alphonsus health care providers.
Candidates must be passionate about meeting patients' health needs, and they must have demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive assessment, care planning, symptom management, problem solving and interdisciplinary teamwork. The Palliative Care Physician will work with members of interdisciplinary teams, collaborating daily with palliative care physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, RNs, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, rehabilitation therapists and other providers. The Palliative Care Physician will practice in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice and within the policies, values, and mission of the Saint Alphonsus Health System.
The schedule for this part-time opportunity is up to two 10-hour shifts per week, rotated with two physicians and APPs. Call is shared equitably with the Palliative Care team.
Requirements for this opportunity include: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO); successful completion of an Accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program; Board certification through the ABFM or ABIM in Palliative Medicine (or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment); the ability to obtain Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy & DEA.
