NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island and the NYU Long Island School of Medicine seek a dynamic, innovative leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a preeminent OB/GYN program on Long Island within the NYU Langone Health system.

The NYU Long Island School of Medicine provides an innovative three-year MD curriculum combining medical education, research, and quality patient care. The school is proud to offer full-tuition scholarships for three years to all matriculated students who maintain satisfactory academic progress and professionalism standards, regardless of merit or financial need. By covering the majority of the cost of attendance, we hope to make it more financially feasible for medical students to choose careers in the important fields of primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology.

The graduate medical education programs offer residents and fellows intensive training in more than 20 specialties with an emphasis on one-on-one faculty mentoring, a focus on the development of progressive clinical and teaching skills, and ample opportunities to conduct research.

NYU Long Island School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

The NYU Long Island School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is a fully integrated Department within NYU Langone Health.

The Department currently has 42 FTEs, including divisions in General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, OB/GYN Hospitalists, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology and Urogynecology.  

The Maternal Fetal Medicine division has been an innovator in several areas, pioneering treatments for conditions such as Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome, fetal surgery procedures, and more.  Currently 20 residents, as well as fellowships in Maternal Fetal Medicine, OB/GYN Hospitalist Medicine, and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, round out the graduate education mission.   

NYU Langone Health is most recently ranked #16 by US News and World Report for Gynecology.  The Joint Commission awarded NYU Langone Health its Perinatal Certification, and the hospital is a Baby-Friendly facility. Over 5,000 births and nearly 3,000 gynecology procedures are performed annually at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island.

The Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, working in close collaboration with the Chair of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, will develop and drive the vision and strategy for Obstetrics and Gynecology for NYU Langone Health with a focus on growth, achieving world class quality and excellence, and enhancing patient outcomes for the Long Island Region. Therefore, the candidate must have a distinguished track record in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology with the ability to foster collaborations between the system goals and regional needs.
