Service Line Medical Director, Adult Health and Wellness Service Line

The MetroHealth System (MHS), a principal teaching hospital of the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine, seeks a dynamic and respected Board Certified Physician leader for the Medical Director of The Adult Health and Wellness Service Line.

Founded in 1837, MetroHealth operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers and 40 additional sites throughout Cuyahoga County. The system serves more than 300,000 patients, two-thirds of whom are uninsured or covered by Medicare or Medicaid. MetroHealth is home to Cuyahoga County's most experienced Level I Adult Trauma Center, verified since 1992, and Ohio's only adult and pediatric trauma and burn center.

The Service Line Medical Director for the Adult Health and Wellness Service Line will be responsible for the development of strategy and identification, implementation, and execution of tactics resulting in service line development and growth, patient access, value, quality throughout the MetroHealth System. The scope of Adult Health and Wellness includes Primary Care (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine and Medicine-Pediatric Physicians and Nurse Practitioners), Express Care (same-day, in-person and virtual focused care) and Dental Medicine.

Leadership is structured in a dyad model with the Service Line Administrator, both shall be responsible for the development, management, and operations of The Adult Health and Wellness Service Line.

We are looking for an individual who will work collaboratively with other MHS leaders and leaders throughout the region to enhance the service line's capability to deliver a full portfolio of services within the communities it serves in a patient-centric manner.

Qualified candidates must be Board Certified and eligible for an Ohio license, have a distinguished record of clinical and leadership experience and skill in managing and carrying out initiatives in a matrix organizational structure environment. The applicant must be qualified for a faculty appointment with CWRU School of Medicine and be currently at an Associate Professor or Professor rank.

The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with at least 2 years of experience leading a clinical enterprise, including budget preparation and management. An advanced degree, MBA/ MPH is preferred. Progressive management experience in multi-specialty group practice environments, especially in academic health care is preferred.
