San Diego, CA -- Opportunity for BC/BE Family Medicine or Internal Medicine physician to train in Population and Public Health with focus on Maternal Health.  Training will occur within the UC San Diego/San Diego State University General Preventive Medicine Residency Program, one of the country’s leading Preventive Medicine programs. Resident training includes robust clinical and public-health oriented experiences highlighting population-health oriented approaches to improving maternal health and decreasing morbidity and mortality in high risk pregnancies in both urban and rural settings. Rotations occur at the County of San Diego Public Health Department, and throughout the UCSD Health System. Additionally, residents complete and obtain a Master of Public Health degree and become eligible for Preventive Medicine Board certification. Our flexible training program includes clinical, population health and research opportunities in maternal and women’s health with a focus on health disparities. Additional opportunities in addiction, lifestyle, obesity and cardiometabolic health can be incorporated into the program. Training can be tailored to individual candidate interests.
