Mount Sinai South Nassau is one of the region’s largest hospitals, with 455-beds, more than 1000 physicians and 3,800 employees. The hospital is an acute-care, not-for-profit teaching hospital that provides state-of-the-art care in cardiac, oncologic, orthopedic, surgical and emergency services.

We currently have exceptional opportunities for clinician-educator Gastroenterologists in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, with or without additional subspecialty gastroenterology training. At MSSN, our faculty enjoy rewarding and diverse careers in clinical care and involvement in our educational missions and research. These positions will be responsible for expanding services including inpatient, outpatient, and endoscopy services, as well as joining us as we hopefully start a GI fellowship program in July 2022 (application submitted and pending approval).
 
The Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau, under the Chairman of the Department, Aaron E. Glatt, MD, MACP, FIDSA, FSHEA is comprised of 400 voluntary and full time Internists and sub-specialists, with 35 gastroenterologists on staff, and has an ACGME fully approved 30 resident Internal Medicine Residency Program which started July 2019. We have submitted for a GI fellowship, to hopefully start in July 2022, under the direction of Frank Gress, MD, MBA, Chief of the Division and Director, Interventional Endoscopy. Our advanced endoscopy program provides the fullest gamut of interventional services including POEMS, TIF and motility studies.

We require:

  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Certified or Eligible in Gastroenterology 
  • Completed an accredited Gastroenterology Fellowship
  • Areas of interest: Motility, Colon Cancer, Interventional Endoscopy, however, outstanding candidates in any area will be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to work within interdisciplinary teams is critical
  • In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent is expected to contribute to the Center’s goals of research, teaching, and community outreach.
