Faculty Positions in Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks highly qualified candidates for faculty positions in the Clinician-Educator (non-tenure) track at the full Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor ranks. Expertise is required in the specific area of melanoma, pigmented lesions, Merkel cell cancer, squamous cell cancer, basal cell cancer, and rare tumors.  Skin cancer expertise, proven by publications, invited lectures, or clinical experience, strongly preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include clinical teaching of residents in dermatology and other specialties caring for skin cancer; fellows in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology; medical students; trainees rotating from other countries or institutions.

Clinical responsibilities may include evaluation and treatment of patients with skin cancer, particularly those with a high-risk of recurrence or metastasis. Clinical responsibilities will focus on growing the Penn Dermatology Oncology Center’s specialty clinics, including the Pigmented Lesion Clinic, the Rare and Inherited Skin Cancer Clinic, and the High-Risk Skin Cancer Clinic for Organ Transplant Recipients and Immunosuppressed Patients.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include clinical research addressing practical questions in the care of patients at increased risk for recurrence or metastasis from skin cancer; translational research in collaboration with physician scientists focused on skin cancer; clinical trials for new drugs to prevent or treat skin cancers.

The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Dermatology with a focus on cutaneous oncology and skin cancers at increased risk for recurrence or metastasis.

Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in Dermatology.
