Internal Medicine - Hospitalist Opportunity (PRN)
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent opportunity for a Hospitalist to join its growing group based at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC) in Boise, Idaho.
Join 29 physicians and 12 APPs in managing an Adult Medicine Hospitalist service at Saint Alphonsus' flagship 387-bed tertiary Regional Medical Center.
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center serves the communities of southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon and the Hospitalists are the primary admitting service for the vast majority of primary care providers in the Saint Alphonsus network. With a patient population split of adult (40%) and geriatric (60%) patients, the Hospitalists see patients with conditions ranging from CHF, pneumonia, COPD, pancreatitis, stroke, neurologic conditions and geriatric fractures as well as other general medical conditions. Rounding typically involves 13-16 patient encounters per day. Moreover, this is a no procedures Hospitalist service and there are no ICU admitting or coverage expectations. In addition, dedicated Nocturnist coverage (1.5 FTE) greatly reduces the number of night shifts required of the remaining members of the Hospitalist group.
SARMC is the region s principal provider of advanced, innovative and interdisciplinary critical care services and is the region s only ACS verified Level II Trauma Center. In-house support includes 24/7 Anesthesia, 24/7 Imaging & Radiology as well as Critical Care trained Medical and Surgical Intensivists. Hospitalists also enjoy the support of a broad spectrum of subspecialists from within SAMG and the broader medical community. Therefore, candidates must be committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care.
The schedule for this opportunity is PRN (as needed). Additionally, there is no call.
Requirements for this opportunity include a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree; successful completion of an ACGME accredited Internal Medicine residency program; Board Certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM) - or obtain such certification within 3 years of employment; obtain Idaho and Oregon medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Boards of Pharmacy & DEA and the granting of privileges at SARMC.
The ideal candidate will have a strong internal medicine background with Hospitalist training and a desire to develop a practice in support of a growing multi-specialty medical group. Hospitalists may also take part in teaching residents.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right Hospitalist to be part of Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center and Saint Alphonsus Medical Group.
Saint Alphonsus offers a competitive salary and benefits package including:
- Sign-on Incentives
- Student Loan Repayment
- PTO & CME Allocation
- Malpractice Insurance (Incl. Tail)
