The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Connecticut Children s is recruiting a full-time Board-certified Pediatric Endocrinologist at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join our dynamic division. A minimum of 3 years of experience is necessary. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide clinical care for children and young adult patients with a wide variety of endocrine disorders, including both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, growth and pubertal disorders, disorders of sexual development, gender dysphoria, and bone/mineral disorders. This position will be primarily located in our Fairfield County out-patient clinic locations.
The candidate would be joining 12 pediatric endocrinologists, 3 pediatric nurse practitioners/1 physician assistant, 5 certified diabetes educators (5 nurses & 2 registered dieticians), 4 endocrine nurses, and a social worker. In addition, we have an active pediatric endocrinology fellowship program with 3 funded fellowship positions. Combining all of our sites in Connecticut, we have a busy clinical practice, which sees approximately 10,000 patients annually.
This position would be located in a combination of 2 of our out-patient clinic settings in Fairfield County, Connecticut with a dedicated medical assistant, medical receptionist, and RN/CDE for this specific position. Additionally, the position will have inpatient clinical duties and teaching responsibilities for medical students, residents, and fellows with an academic appointment at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Exposure to the rapidly growing academic and research centers of Connecticut Children s, University of Connecticut School of Medicine (UConn Health), and The Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine creates a vibrant academic community available to the faculty. As part of Connecticut Children s growing commitment to its academic and research missions, we have world-renowned translational research programs focused on rare bone disorders/bone biology and glycogen storage diseases. We are the largest site for gene therapy worldwide for glycogen storage disease type 1A.
