The NYU Langone Health Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine is seeking a BE/BC nocturnal intensivist to join its full-time faculty and participate in critical care medicine based at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue.

NYCH+H/Bellevue (Bellevue) is the tertiary referral center for the country’s largest public health system. Located in the heart of New York City, Bellevue has over 800 staffed beds including 70 critical care beds. The community Bellevue serves is diverse, multi-cultural and multinational.

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) itself follows a tripartite mission of patient care, house staff education and clinical research.  Bellevue’s MICU serves as NYC Health and Hospitals’ referral center for ECMO, advanced neurologic and cardiac care, neurosurgical and cardiovascular surgical services, PE response (PERT) and Special Pathogen Preparedness, providing a diverse and all-inclusive critical care experience. NYU School of Medicine students, residents and fellows rotate through the MICU and provide an excellent academic environment. Additionally, the MICU serves as a site for various multi-center clinical research trials.

The nocturnal intensivist will serve as the attending intensivist for the MICU for eleven (11) to thirteen (13) shifts per month. Responsibilities will include patient care, resident education and boosting critical care presence within the ICU, as well as responding to emergencies on the floor. Non-clinical time will be dedicated towards opportunities for career advancement, including building academic portfolios in research, education or administrative interests.

We offer a faculty appointment with the NYU School of Medicine commensurate with credentials, experience and qualifications. The NYU Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine Division provides a path for mentorship and faculty development. Candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be board certified/board eligible in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. Candidates should hold a valid New York State License and DEA number.

For immediate consideration, please forward your cover letter and CV via email to: Marla.Hymes@nyulangone.org

The NYU School of Medicine is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer and provides a drug-free workplace.
