Palliative Care Opportunity
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Palliative Care Physician to join its inpatient palliative care service at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the quality and efficiency of health care for patients with chronic conditions. Its team of palliative providers provide hospital-based, interdisciplinary team consultations for patients in need of palliative care along with continuing education on palliative care topics for Saint Alphonsus health care providers.
Candidates must be passionate about meeting patients' health needs, and they must have demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive assessment, care planning, symptom management, problem solving and interdisciplinary teamwork. The Palliative Care Physician will work with members of interdisciplinary teams, collaborating daily with palliative care physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, RNs, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, rehabilitation therapists and other providers. The Palliative Care Physician will practice in accordance with the applicable scope and standards of practice and within the policies, values, and mission of the Saint Alphonsus Health System.
The schedule for this opportunity is up to four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Sunday, in rotation with one physician and APPs. Call is shared equitably with the Palliative Care team.
The ideal candidate will possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree; have successfully completed an accredited ACGME/AOA Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Residency program; Board Certification in Palliative Medicine through the ABFM or ABIM (or obtain such certification within three years of employment); Idaho medical licensure to practice medicine in all its phases; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
